By registering your email, you will be sent email for Outreaching Helping Hands assistance for special outreach circumstances.  For example, if a parishioner has been identified as needing some special assistance with meals or other help due to a severe illness or other crisis.  Special Outreach Projects may be posted as well. If you know of someone in need of help and think that the parish may be able to assist, please send email to the Outreach Commission at outreach_commission@olos.org or the office at staff@olos.org.

The Outreach Commission recommends strategic policies and programs to the pastor which address the social mission of the Church. This commission is to engage in a careful study of Church teaching and monitor the social needs present in the area. The commission recommends ways in which the parish can minister to the needs of those in the wider community.  The commission seeks ways to promote justice and peace in the parish community itself, and ways the parish can become involved in the social justice issues in society. Through its deliberations, through consultation and educational efforts, this commission promotes a deeper understanding of an individual's baptismal commitment  and communal call to service of the poor.

Our Lady of Sorrows Outreach participates in the study  of church teaching including the Encyclicals and especially the Principles of Catholic Social Teaching.  We work to promote Social Justice and Compassion in our world. We play a role in facilitating parish involvement in Socially Conscious activities. We strive to be examples of leadership on an active life of stewardship.
